A table of the Bond Futures was displayed. The table included the 2-year Note (/ZT), 5-year Note (/ZF), 10-year Note (/ZN), 30-year Bond (/ZB) and the Ultra Bond (/UB). The table compared the tick amounts and the notional value of each. Another table displayed their comparable ETFs and those notional value while a third table showed the option liquidity and dough’s liquidity rating.
A table showed the correlations between the /ZT, /ZF, /ZN and /ZB. The table also included the related ETFs. The table showed that most of the products were highly correlated.
A graph of the price comparing the TLT, TLH, IEF, iEI, and SHY over the last two years was displayed. The graph showed that the longer duration Bonds (and ETFs), had greater swings in price, as would be expected. A final table comparing the 3-month correlation ot the Bond ETFs to the SPY, QQQ, IWM and GLD was displayed.
The relationship between bonds (TLT) and equities (SPY) has fluctuated between a negative and positive correlation. There is currently a negative correlation between bonds and equities, while a moderate positive relationship exist between bonds and gold.
