Meet Chandra, tastylive's Newest Rising Star

    Feb 29, 2016

Chandra S sits down with Tom and Tony to discuss his journey and how tastylive put him on the path to trading success.

The interview begins with a discussion of our Rising Star’s background. He has a degree in biochemistry, but after immigrating to the United States during the dot-com hoopla he became a Certified Big Data Hadoop and a CRM developer. He is married with two children, 9 and 11. He started trading almost from the beginning of his time in America, and although he wasn’t losing any significant amounts of money, neither was he making significant amounts. Luckily, through the help of a relative, he found first tastylive videos on youtube and then the site. He credits the tastylive rules and discipline for his success.

Chandra paid down his debts (mortgage) and quit his job and started trading full time in 2015 and his trading account was $250K with portfolio margining. His portfolio return was up just shy of 50% and he made about 950 completed trades (950 opening and 950 closing). He has made about 350 completed trades so far this year and believes he is on a path to improve upon last year’s return. He trades mainly the SPX and SPY and uses about 6 different trade strategies (such as straddles, strangles, vertical spreads, covered calls and others) at a time while selling high IV options with about 45 days to expiration (DTE) . Tom and Tony pointed out that his trading has become scalable and sustainable.

Watch this segment of “Rising Stars” with Tom Sosnoff, Tony Battista and Chandra S. to hear some of the details of his successful trading journey following the tastylive way.
